LISA JENKS

Award winning, New York Designer, Lisa Jenks is inspired by ancient cultures, varying textures and intricate patterns. Those inspirations have been the foundation for her jewelry collections, Having started as a clothing designer after graduating from Parsons School of Design, Lisa launched her own company in 1987 concentrating initially on sterling silver jewelry that quickly became a distinctive focus in the designer jewelry world.
Lisa’s design aesthetic is often referred to as modern primitive, drawing on the ancient cultures of Polynesia, Mexico, Africa and Egypt for inspiration and fusing those influences with early and mid-20th century design concepts. Lisa values the way in which ancient societies used art as a means to explain the world around them and often is virtually all that remains of these extinct cultures.
The company, Lisa Jenks Limited, is known for its unique and always inspiring designs. Lisa says she cannot imagine doing anything but designing. She has a fresh approach to combining metals with other materials and takes a whimsical slant to infusing form with function. Just looking at her latest collections presents a window into her evolution as a designer.
